What’s meditation ?

Meditation is a practice where an individual trains the mind or induces a mode of consciousness, either to realize some benefit or for the mind to simply acknowledge its content without becoming identified with that content, or as an end in itself.

The term meditation refers to a broad variety of practices that includes techniques designed to promote relaxation, build internal energy or life force (qi, ki, prana, etc.) and develop compassion, love, patience, generosity, and forgiveness. A particularly ambitious form of meditation aims at effortlessly sustained single-pointed concentration meant to enable its practitioner to enjoy an indestructible sense of well-being while engaging in any life activity.

The English meditation is derived from the Latin meditatio, from a verb meditari, meaning “to think, contemplate, devise, ponder.

This workshop is meant for everybody who is interested in meditation and the benefits of this practice, but mainly for those who want to learn how to practice it.

During the workshop you will get a clear description on what meditation is, but also direct advice to start meditating.

On top of that you will receive a complete manual (In French), with 21 therapeutic meditations, at the end of the workshop.

Pedagogical objectives:

The objective of the workshop Activzen & CHIness Centre is to give each participant a level of autonomy in practising secular meditation, which enables them to obtain their objectives related to meditative and therapeutic sessions, but also personal development.

Functional basic principle of meditation:

The basic principle of meditation is to develop attention and concentration. Developing only these two facets can have extraordinary consequences on al dimensions of our life.

The advantages of meditation:

When done correctly, the first benefits can be experienced after 2 to 3 weeks.

An internal deeper transformation takes place after several months of practice. The benefits gained from a regular practice of meditation are numerous and this has been proven in thousands of scientific studies throughout the ages.

The four most common meditations are:

  • Samatha meditation,
  • transcendental meditation,
  • meditation with sounds
  • and vipassana meditation in full consciousness.
